Thiraucourt

Thiraucourt is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.

Its inhabitants is called Thiraucurtiens.

Geography

Thiraucourt belongs to the canton of Mirecourt. The village found refuge in the small valley of the valley of Arol, a little with the variation of the road main axes.

Many orchards, hedges, thickets, wood compose the landscape, thus offer to this small village a rich and varied natural framework. Over the top of the slope the fruit-lofts largely dominate the vegetation, while the low part (293m) of the valley of the Valley of Arol is made up of majestic trees and meadows offering some pretty varieties of orchises.

History

It is in 1180 qu' appears for the first time the name of the village of Thiraucourt, spelled at the time Tirocourt . The very rural village does not know much change through the years. Its population is not very high and the number of its rural will not cease decreasing. In 1789, little concerned with the disorders of the Revolution, the village lives in autarky. It is known that the Balthazard Knight of Saint-Victor resided at the castle which collapsed and made it possible to the inhabitants to consolidate and to increase their houses. The knight died ruined leaving behind him two girls who lived cloîtrées in a thatched cottage of the village.

Famous characters

Thiraucourt is known in the surroundings for its marshal-shoeing in the years 1960. Indeed, Leon Barthélémy is famous for his art to make in the door-fitting of the draft horses of all the farmers of the area. It is at his place that a rich person landowner Vittel had just made pose with the shoes his two more beautiful horses of the horseshoes in solid gold. Leon Barthélémy had to buy gold ingots which it transformed into horseshoe to pose with the shoes these animals. These last, from now on, had a priceless value!
