Thimister-Clermont

Thimister-Clermont (in Walloon Timister-Clairmont ) is a common French-speaking of Belgium located in Walloon region in the Province of Liege.

It counted at July 1st 2004 5.310 inhabitants (2 673 men and 2.637 women) for a surface of 28,55 km ². The common one forms integral part of the Pays of Herve and one manufactures there the local products of which cider, speciality of the locality. Its altitude varies from 170 with 347m.

Celebrities

Antoine Fonck (Verviers 1893 - Thimister 1914) - Soldier with the 2nd Lancers. He is regarded as being the first Belgian soldier killed at the time of the First World War. A monument was set up at the place where it was killed.
