Thierry Caens

Thierry Caens is a traditional Trompettiste , born in 1958

It began the trumpet with his father Marcel Caens (also father of the saxophonist Jean-Pierre Caens).

Thierry Caens was pupil of Robert Pichaureau, Pierre Pollin and Maurice André. He obtains in the class of Maurice André the first Price of trumpet in 1977 and the first Price of horn in 1978 with the Conservatoire of Paris.

Trumpet solo with the National orchestra of Lyon in 1975.
Founder of the " Arban" quintet; in 1976.
Horn solo with the Opera of Paris in 1982.
Professor with the Academy of Dijon since 1985.

Large soloist, Thierry Caens is in the beginning many projects and arrangements.
