Thierry Benoit

Thierry Benoît (born the September 13rd 1966) is a French Political personality, deputy of Ille-et-Vilaine (6th district) since the June 17th 2007, independent at the Parliament.

Legislative elections 2007

He was elected with the second turn, with 55,09% of the voices vis-a-vis the candidate UMP Marie-Therese Boisseau, elected in 2002. He had before stated to have voted for Nicolas Sarkozy with the second round of the presidential election and made countryside only under the initials UDF. He sits at the sides of Francois Bayrou as an independent and is regarded as an elected official of the MoDem although he was always presented in the form of “an UDF”.

Wishing to reconcile the Modem and the Nouveau Center, Thierry Benoît puts forth the assumption of a departure of the Modem if this one continued its slip on the left. He considers that UMP also includes/understands centrists (public statement with the “Forum of the democrats” with Seignosse on September 16th, 2007).
