Thick Gilbert
Gilbert Dru is resistant French and Christian militant, born in 1920 and died in Lyon the July 27th 1944.
Person in charge of the Youth Christian coed, Gilbert Dru refuses the defeat vis-a-vis the Nazi Germany and takes part in the resistance movement spiritual and organizes Resistance in the mediums of Christian youth. He is cut down by the Gestapo, Place Bellecour in Lyon, on July 27th, 1944, at the 24 years age.
Homages
Louis Aragon dedicated to him, with three other resistant (Gabriel Péri, Honore d' Estienne d' Orves and Guy Môquet, is two Christians and two Communists), its poem " The pink and the réséda" , which contains the famous ones towards " That which believed in the Sky/That which did not believe pas" in it; .
A college, open in 2005, bears its name in the 3rd district of Lyon.
The Rhone-Alps Federation of LICRA created in 1981, on the initiative of its president Rene Nodot, the Prix Gilbert Dru intended for " to reward for the pupils of a school of the Rhone for their concrete action against racism and the antisémitisme."
