Thibaud of Blois or Thibaut IV Large the , born in 1093, dead the January 10th 1151, count de Blois, of Chartres, of Meaux, of Châteaudun, lord of Sancerre and Amboise (1102 - 1151), count de Troyes and Champagne ( Thibaut II 1125 - 1151), oldest son of Etienne-Henri, count de Blois, Chartres, Châteaudun, Meaux, lord of Sancerre and Amboise, and Adele ofEngland, girl of William the Conqueror, it inherits into 1102 the fields his/her father, who is made kill with the Bataille of Rowed, into Ground-Holy. In 1125, his/her uncle Hugues Ier de Champagne is made templier and bequeaths to him, the county of Troyes, as well as the title of count de Champagne that this last had been created, although not having the totality of the province.
In 1135, his/her younger brother Etienne of Blois is made crown king d' Angleterre. By its ascending and its skill, it extends the small county of Troyes to all Champagne, imposing its suzerainty on five vassal of the archbishop of Rheims, on as much of the bishop of Langres and several dukes of Burgundy (in particular Joigny). Also it of Troyes makes the capital of its States, and becomes it one of principal vassal crown, Count Palatine and even of France.
Of Mathilde de Carinthie, married in 1123, it leaves ten children, of which:
- Henri I {{er}}, count de Champagne and of Brie;
- Thibaut V, count de Blois and of Chartres and constable of France;
- Etienne, count de Sancerre;
- Guillaume with the White Hands, archbishop of Rheims, cardinal and pontifical legate;
- Adele (1140 - 1206), wife of Louis VII, king de France, and mother of Philippe-Auguste;
- Marie, wife of Eudes II, duke of Burgundy;
- Agnes, wife of Renaud II, count de Bar;
- Marguerite, nun with Fontevraud.
- Mathilde († 1184), married before 1160 with Rotrou IV († 1191), count of the Pole
