Thermal baths of Constantin (Arles)

History

Roman Thermal baths built at the beginning of the 4th century, when the emperor Constantin resided at Arelate; they were interpreted wrongly at the 16th century like the ruins of a Roman palate.

The thermal baths were partially released as from the 19th century. The currently visible vestiges correspond to the Caldarium , with floors of heating suspended (Hypocauste) and a beautiful swimming pool in semicircular Abside, bored of three windows and glaze of a vault in Cul of furnace.
