Theophilus Dönges
Theophilus Ebenhaezer Donges (1898 - 1968) was a Politician afrikaner of South Africa, nationalist, Minister of Interior Department and finances in the governments of Apartheid starting from 1948.
Theophilus Dönges was born with Klerksdorp with the Transvaal, in 1898, wire junior by Pasteur of Dutch and German origin.
It made its studies with Stellenbosch and was graduate of a doctorate of right to the Université of London in 1925.
Appointed national Left starting from 1941, it succeeds, in 1948, with Daniel François Malan with the direction of the party in the the Cape Province.
Minister of Interior Department since 1948, in charge amongst other things of immigration, it is one of the craftsmen of the many laws which constituted the apartheid of which the “Group aired act”.
From 1961 to 1967, he is Minister for Finance.
Donges took over temporarily the duties the head of the government of the September 6th (assassination of Hendrik Verwoerd) to the September 13rd 1966 (taken function of John Vorster).
Died the January 10th 1968, it was to succeed Charles Swart with the presidency of the republic but sick could not hold its station, assured by Jozua François Naudé.
