Theodore Harold Maiman (born July 11th 1927 with dead Denver, the United States and the May 5th 2007 with Vancouver, Canada), is a American Physicien . He makes his studies at the universities of Colorado and Stanford.

In May 1960, the American physicist Theodore Maiman obtained for the first time an emission Laser by means of a crystal of ruby. It deposited a layer of aluminum at the ends of the stem forming a cavity thus. The impulse is a red ray of color.
