Theodore Dézamy
Alexandre Theodore Dézamy , born in 1803 with Luçon (the Vendée), died in 1850, is a French socialist theorist.
Theorist of utopian Communism under Louis-Philippe I {{er}}, Dézamy leaves the Vendée for Paris, where he follows the occupation of schoolmaster. In the capital, it adheres to various secret republican companies (in particular, with the Société of the seasons in 1839) and binds with one of the principal representatives of the socialist movement of this time, Etienne Cabet, of which he became the secretary. Later, he criticizes his conciliating tactic and his opportunism, rejecting his calls to the assistance in favors of the workmen near the middle-class men like unrealistic persons and inviting the proletariat to link and to release itself.
In 1840, it is one of the organizers of the “communist banquet” with Belleville. In July 1846, Dézamy founds the levelling Communists, who are the subject of continuations the following year.
At the time of the Revolution of February 1848, it defends the claims of the workers actively. With Blanqui, it founds the central republican Société in 1848.
In its utopian theories, it is located in the line of Morelly, Babeuf and Fourier, combatant Communism " pacifique" of Cabet and " socialism chrétien" of Lamennais. Its philosophical designs materialists and atheists make of it a disciple of Helvétius. In the Holy Family , Marx testifies to a great regard for the doctrines of Dézamy, which he regards as one of the communist disciples most consequent of the philosophers materialists of the XVIIIe century who has developed the doctrines of the materialism as doctrines of real humanism and as logical Communism bases.
The major work of Dézamy is the Code of the Community , published in November 1842. Divided into 19 chapters and containing 47 articlees of faith, the book describes a communist Phalanstère inspired by the materialism of the XVIIIe century. Werner Sombart considers that this work anticipates the revolutionary socialism of Marx.
