Theodor Waigel

Theodor Waigel (born on April 22nd, 1939 in the district of Ursberg, Souabe) is a German politician , member of CSU. He was federal minister for Finances of 1989 to 1998.

Biography and employment

After its baccalaureat with Krumbach, Waigel continues into 1959 of the studies of right and policy with Munich, then with Würzburg. It passes in 1963 the first federal examination of right, then in 1967 the second. The same year, it is received doctor in right with for thesis the constitutional order of German, and particularly Bavarian agriculture . After a capacity as an assessor with the court of Munich, Waigel becomes personal referent of the Secretary of State to the Bavarian ministry of Finances in 1969. From 1970 to 1972, it fulfills the same function near the Bavarian ministry of the Economy and Transport.

After its capacity in policy, Waigel fulfills the function of listener near the Deutschen Vermögensberatung AG (investment company).

Theodor married in second weddings Iren Epple. It has three children.

Party

Waigel is member of CSU. From 1971 to 1975, it is representing Junge Union in Bavaria. From 1973 to 1988, he is also Member of the Commission founder of the CSU. He is since 1970, member of the party of sound Land and since 1983 member of the presidency of the CSU. In 1987/88, it is representing of Souabe with the CSU. From November 1988 in January 1999 he is president of the CSU. Its successor is the minister-president of Bavaria, Edmund Stoiber.
