Theo Jörgensmann is a Clarinettiste of Jazz and German Compositeur born with Bottrop in September 29th 1948.
Biography
Jörgensmann is a major clarinettist of the European scene. With beginning of the year 70, it starts to work in small formations, and signs its first disc as a leader. In same time it appears in all kinds of festivals in Germany.It is devoted to teaching at the university of Duisburg like that of Witten-Herdecke. He played with Barre Philips, Bobo Stenson, Kent Carter, Kenny Wheeler, Louis Sclavis, Karl Berger, Günter Sommer, Lee Konitz…
After many experiments with Eckard Koltermann in the Eighties and Nineties, Jörgensmann sets up its group Theo Jörgensmann Quartet in 1997, with Christopher Dell, Christian Ramond and Klaus Kugel. Successfully, it carries out several rounds with the the United States and the Canada. Since 2003, it works with the brothers Polish Marcin and Bartłomiej Oleś, and all three turn in the countries of Eastern Europe. In parallel, it starts to occur and record in solo, while multiplying meetings and experiments.
