Theatrical improvisation

The theatrical improvisation is a theatrical technique, making it possible to develop the creativity, listening and the exchange. The actor plays without preset text, without setting in preliminary scene, according to his inspiration. It is an important component of the training of the actor, employed in the majority of the Cours of dramatic art

The theatrical improvisation can be used by the Acteur S during the repetitions of a Play, or during research on psychological construction their characters.

The improvisation can also constitute the basic principle of a spectacle, as for the Commedia dell' arte , the spectacles of improvisation (Match of improvisation, Café-théâtre of improvisation, Catch impro…) and often the Theater of street. It becomes a teaching with whole share then, with particular techniques.

The techniques of improvisation, and more particularly the dramatic play are also used in excercice as Psychomotricité. The Psychodrame uses also certain aspects of the theatrical improvisation with a therapeutic aim .

The techniques of theatrical improvisation developed by the actors practitioner mainly this discipline can be used in the world of the company or even simply as a personnel development assistance by supporting the communication, the cohesion of team, the self-confidence. Brazilian the Augusto Boal developed in this direction (and also in a more political and social way) many techniques inside what it calls the theater of oppressed (such as for example the Théâtre forum).
