History

The Théâtre of New-Ontario (TNO) is a theater Free-Ontarian which has the role of making radiate the local culture by the means of mainly Canadian works. It was created in 1971 during some " revolution culturelle" free-Ontarian which is the fruit of an important breath of creation, of catch of identity and of mobilization which revitalized the cultural life in the French-speaking community of the Ontario.

In the Eighties, Brigitte Haentjens gave again life with this theater and was consequently occasion one of its artistic directors most outstanding. She collaborated then of very near with Jean-Marc Dalpé which created, inter alia, the Dog , one of the parts which strongly marked the history of TNO .

In the Nineties, the arrival of Sylvie Dufour and André Perrier was beneficial with a regeneration of the basin of authors and with the construction of a theater suitable for TNO . Room whose company dreamed since nearly 30 years which made it possible to increase the public and the number of partners.

Since the years 2000, TNO continues to enjoy its reputation and to accumulate successes with, inter alia, Of the pip to the crack .
