Synopsis
A violent woman lives in the morbid memory of her former lover, in a small village of Italian immigrants located in the Gulf of Mexico. Withdrawn from the world after the death of her husband, it expects that his/her daughter makes in the same way.In his crusade against the American puritanism and his taboos, the author finds in the character of Serafina, the generous widow, the elements which enable him, according to his own words, to celebrate the worship of Dionysos. Of this work, one of only which finishes on an optimistic note, Tennessee Williams said: " The tattooed Rose is my song of love for the monde".
