The symphonic Hour

Symphony Hour is a cartoon of Mickey Mouse produces by Walt Disney for RKO Radio Pictures, left the March 20th 1942. It is the last film of Mickey Mouse before its return in 1947.

Synopsis

Mickey directs an orchestra including/understanding of many characters such as Donald, Dingo, Clarabelle… interpreting the Light cavalry with wonder in front of the producer of radio operator Sylvester Macaroni (Pat). The producer signs with them a contract for a representation public broadcast. Following a bad adventure on behalf of Nutcase, their instruments find applatis by an elevator. The representation which follows is rather astonishing.

Film analyzes

After this film, left in spring 1942, Mickey will have an absence of the five year old cinemas. It will not take again the poster that in 1947 for Rendez-vous delayed . This film marks also the last appearance before 1983 - and the film Christmas de Mickey - for several characters: Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar and Clara Cluck.

At the graphic and musical level, Leonard Maltin compared film with a “version Spike Jones of the Brass band (1935)”.
