Synopsis
In 1744, in Russia, the German princess Sophia Frederica must marry the large-duke Pierre III of Russia, nephew of the empress Elisabeth Ire. Frustrated by the lack of scale of her husband, it allures the count Alexei, then the captain Orlov. With died of the empress, it makes assassinate her husband, and becomes thus Catherine II, empress of all Russies.
Comment
The film, left into full depression in the United States, knew a commercial and critical failure.
