The of Algiers Sahel

The the of Algiers Sahel is a small range of littoral hills, of a few kilometers broad on around fifty in length, which extends since the solid mass from Bouzaréah dominating Algiers (it culminates to 407 m) in the east, until the Oued Nador, of which perforated isolates it from the solid mass of the Chenoua in the west.

It separates the west from the plain of the Mitidja of the sea the Mediterranean, and contributes to the caratère marsh ux of this plain. The only natural emissary who it cross-piece is the Oued Mazafran. A tunnel of drainage was built by the French in his western part, narrowest, to drain the lake Halloula and to contribute to the cleansing of Mitidja.
