Summary
The evening of Christmas 1940, two refugees push a small cart on a road of the South of France. He is cabinetmaker and it awaits a child. Driven out of all the crammed hotels of world, they fail in a cattle shed lent by a couple of country brave men. It is confined at midnight, between an ass and an ox, taken care by a shepherd. Then three travellers come to offer to the newborn some personal memories, everyone finally will go to the midnight mass.
