The interior Castle
The interior Château is a work of Therese d' Avila. The Carmelite nun Therese of Jesus, future holy Therese d' Avila, finished in 1577 the drafting dce this mystical work initially entitled Las Moradas (meaning in Spanish the Residences ). It will be finally published under the title Castillo interior ( the interior Castle ).
The image of the Castle renvoit to the heart which must pass by successive stages to reach the purity and the perfection. These stages correspond to the seven residences of the castle, in which the heart improves gradually before reaching the ultimate one, where God is, and where is sealed the divine union. The Asceticism, the Prayer and the Méditation are the main doors of the castle which give access the extase of pure the Amour.
