The inter-commune Community of the interdependent cities

The Inter-commune Communauté of the Interdependent Cities ( CIVIS ) is a Communauté of French agglomeration located in the French department of overseas of the Meeting. Its president is Michel Fontaine, Maire of Saint-Pierre.
History
The CIVIS succeeds a Communauté of communes created the June 24th 1997.The common S of the Port and the Possession left this first structure of inter-commune co-operation and joined the Communauté of communes preceding current operating burnup before 2001 with the favor of a change of Political majority.
The commune of Pond-Salted the left then CCSUD and joined the new whole in 2001 or 2002.
The CIVIS as such was created the December 26th 2002. The commune of Saint-Philippe left it on this date.

- Pond-Salted the
- Small-Island
- Saint-Louis
- Saint-Pierre
Sit
The seat of the structure which preceded Civis was located at the Port until 2001. Since, it is installed in four sites different representing a total from 1.200 square meters offices. In order to join together in only one place all the services and all satellite SEM, a ground was acquired in Saint-Pierre. A building of 14.000 square meters must be there built by one groupemement carried out by CBo Territoria for an entire amount of 38 million euros net of tax.
Demography
In 1999, the common ones currently composing the CIVIS counted a total of 140.455 inhabitants, without double accounts. In 1990, they counted only 119.743 of them, which means an average annual growth rate of 1,8%.
