The flying Doctor

the Doctor stealing is a Play of Molière not represented in Paris in 1650. It comprises 16 scenes and seven characters:

Gorgibus , noble old man, father of Lucile
Lucile : girl of Gorgibus, promised in Villebrequin
Large-Rene : servant of Gorgibus
Sabine : cousin of Lucile, imaginatrice of all the central intrigue of the part
Valère : lover of Lucile
Sganarelle : servant of Valère, hero of the history
a lawyer .

Summary of the part

Gorgibus wanted to marry Lucile with the old Crankshaft at all costs. However, Lucile is in love with Valère. Entrusting its love to his/her Sabine cousin, this one will see Valère to expose the problem to him and teaches him that, to delay the marriage, Lucile the disease simulates. She asks Valère to find somebody to imitate the doctor who will order the departure of Lucile in a country house, thus, Valère will be able easily to see it. They are appropriate together that it will be the servant of Valère, Sganarelle. This one thus goes to Gorgibus, “auscultates” Lucile and declares to him that a little air would make him good. The father thus decides to take it along to live in the house of his garden. When Sganarelle returns to return account in Valère, Gorgibus arrives: Valère manages to hide, but not Sganarelle… The servant tells that he is Narcisse, the twin of the “strong scientist doctor”, and that they were annoyed. The middle-class man then promises to reconcile them and will seek the brother. Sganarelle, income disguised as a doctor, makes very to avoid the reconciliation in vain…. Narcisse (Sganarelle) is made lock up in the home of Gorgibus which seeks his/her brother. Narcisse jumps by the window to return in Sganarelle doctor… but is made surprise by Large-Rene who starts to include/understand all the history. After a setting in scene which will end up convincing that Narcisse and Sganarelle were reconciled, Sganarelle arises out of dress of doctor, then returns in the part where Narcisse was supposed being locked up, by leaving its medicinal costume behind him. Large-Rene collects it, then tells all in Gorgibus: the false doctor, the connection of his daughter. Gorgibus, disappointed and ashamed, decides to make put at dead Sganarelle, but this last convinces it that Valère is a good party. Finally, the marriage of Lucile and Valère will take place…
