the finta Giardiniera (" False the jardinière"), K. 196, is an Italian opera of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart finished his composition with Munich in January 1775 whereas it was 18 years old. The first took place on January 13rd in Salvatortheater in Munich. The booklet is allotted today to Giuseppe Petrosellini after being allotted to Raniero de Cazalbigi.

Synopsis
The action occurs to the 18th century in the property from the podestat from Lagonero, Don Anchise. The history is rather complicated.
The count Belfiore lover of the Violating marchioness Onesti stabbed it at the time of an access of jealousy. The believer died, it became engaged to Arminda. Violating which survived share in the search of Belfiore accompanied by its Roberto servant. Violating is made engage under the name of Sandrina like flower stand of Gift Anchise, the uncle d' Arminda. Roberto is also disguised as a gardener under the name of Nardo.
Don Anchise has a Serpetta maidservant whom he loves, but he prefers Sandrina now. Serpetta is annoyed and pushes back Nardo by it. Ramiro, old promised in marriage of Arminda, is also annoyed. Sandrina is made recognize by Belfiore which is thrown to its feet. All is well, but dramatic turn of events: Violating its identity denies. They all become insane. After a series of be delirious, the opera is completed by three marriages Belfiore and Violating, Ramiro and Arminda, Roberto and Serpetta. Only the podestat remains alone.
Giardinera d' Anfossi
Another opera with the same name was composed in 1774 by
Pasquale Anfossi before that of Mozart with a great success. In spite of many common points between two works, that of Mozart is personal.

Singspiel in German
DER gärtnerin aus Liebe with spoken dialogs. It is in this form that the opera was played until 1978 when the
Neue Mozart Ausgabe restored work in its original form.
