Comment

The film The Divine Woman (the divine Woman) is a vague adaptation of the life of Sarah Bernhardt, deceased five years earlier. In fact, the scenario, written to measure for Garbo is a synthesis of the life of Sarah Bernhardt and own life of Garbo. This film will be worth in Garbo the nickname of " Divine" , thus borrowing from the French actress the nickname which it had carried.

The film in its entirety was lost and it is all the more surprising which it acted for the time of a luxurious production of the MGM. The Divine Woman knew at the time a great popular success and financier. However, a 9 minutes extract was found a few years ago with the Cineclub of Moscow. This extract was already diffused on American and French chains TCM.
