The dead Queen
the dead Queen is a Play of Montherlant, written in 1942.
It is one of the most known parts of the author, who develops the traditional topic of the love opposed by the Reason of State. The principal characters are the king Shoeing, his Pedro son whom he seeks to marry with the Infant E of Navarre, and Ines of Castro, married in secrecy with Pedro, and awaiting even a child of him!!. It is a splendid part in which prose is closely related to poetry.
