The black Ray

the black Ray is an album of Cartoon, the forty fourth of the series the adventures of Spirou and Fantasio.

Synopsis

A new mushroom arrives at the laboratory of the Count de Champignac: after some analyzes, the Count is convinced that it can produce with the adequate equipment a ray returning that which is exposed black of skin there. However, the first experiment misses and the Count leaves the castle, leaving it with the care Spirou and Fantasio.

Following a short-circuit, the machine packs and returns Spirou, which was in the vicinity, black like had predicted the Count. Trying to join it to announce the news to him, it causes an accident and is found in prison with the gendarmerie of Champignac, in company of Vito Cortizone, which was in a light van of police force whose tire burst near the village. Spirou makes the error of all then to tell him, and Cortizone escapes to seize the invention, with an aim of becoming unrecognizable.

Following a race-continuation, Cortizone is captured but the half of the village becomes black. The tension goes up and the population attacks the castle. Fortunately, the effect of the ray is cancelled of only one blow for all its victims, thus calming the heats of the champignacians.

Adaptation

This album was adapted in 1995 in the animated series Spirou.
