Comments
This band of gangsters buddies is trotted in the life in the most off-hand way. Released in the inconsistency, they upset the established order, have fun their mishaps which the tone of film always wants cocasses and without real dramatic consequences. The band the small ones strike resulting from an underworld of bottom stages, wearied thin results of the usual truanderies reconverts itself into “the Politique”. More exactly they use and misuse what the Western company became in the Seventies. For this reason, Lelouch draws up one carried very ironic from a company which sees assembling in force the ideas warping, a capsizable official capacity, a incomprehensible Géopolitique, the leisures, the holidays, the world of the companies of Assurance, the Show-business and its almost political or social capacity. But this film takes care well not to fall into the simple denunciation: by its cynicism often pickling solution, the film remains a monument of humor, overflowing of enthusiasm, sometimes with excess. Finally the spectator wonders whether it really attends with a caricature of its world or a pure comic entertainment, moreover been useful by very good actors (Ventura, Brel, Denner, Gerard and Maccione).
The friendship, accompanied by the will to survive by new rules in a world dishonest person, increases the effectiveness of this group which has fun life while being controllable what consolidates its freedom. At every moment, Lelouch returns them main then had, nobody being never saved. Crowd populacière and expressing, prompt to applaud any silliness, is made fun as much than the political, middle-class or intellectual establishment. When the gangsters sell a revolutionary hostage South American with three various authorities (revolutionist, official and American), they are the first to let itself have by the joys of tourism of mass which softens them as much as it annoys them.
