Synopsis

Julia (Mia Farrow), Magnus (Keir Dullea) and their daughter have the breakfast quietly on their premises. But suddenly, the child chokes himself with a piece of apple. Julia tries well to save it but its attempts remain unfruitful and the little girl dies. Julia is traumatisé by this death and will be hospitalized one long period. To his exit, her husband comes to seek it but she flees, refusing to turn over to the marital home. Persuaded that their couple does not have any more a raison d'être without their child, the young woman decides to move only into a house in order to be restored shock gently, with the assistance of her best friend Mark (Tom Conti). But little by little, Julia feels a strange presence in its new house, a presence which she does not fear and which makes him think of his/her daughter. However, it could still be a question of a more terrible history and Julia then begins research to make the light on this house and this strange presence that she feels there.
