The Valley of the Redskins

the Valley of the Redskins was a Parc with topics of Jean Richard located on the commune of Fleurines, in the north of Senlis in the Oise. It opened in 1966, the main theme was the conquest of the Western American in a decoration of small town of pioneers of the 19th century. The park definitively closed its doors in 1988.

History

In the Years 1970, the American culture and the far west makes dream the children and the Western S are with the mode. The Valley of the Redskins was to be rather simple in its design and was to be devoted to the Indians. But while being based on the latest thing around this topic, the project develops and includes/understands finally a true American city at the time of the Conquête of the West, with its Saloon, its office of the Shérif… beside the Indian village and of its huts. The park, created by Robert Mottura and Philippe Cart-Tanner, opens with the public in spring 1966.

Attractions & Animations

At the end of the city of the pioneers, the station was the departure towards the wild west in the train.

The park proposed spectacles mainly and animations like demonstrations of Rodeo, the arrival of the Cavalerie or attacks it train by the Indian .

Some shops proposed articles westerns , a Gambling house had machines with under and it was possible to appreciate a Chili con carne in a typical restaurant.

Anecdotes

Three discs vinyl 45 turns were produced. One, with a song devoted to the park. The group was called Farwesters and their song was entitled " With the valley of the redskins ". Another comprised a recording of the Desperados of Launay Jack which had occurred with the Crystal De luxe hotel, the Saloon of the valley of the redskins. A third proposed the original soundtrack televised series " the Indians " , turned in the park in 1966.
