The Valley-of-Meuse

Old commune of the Haute-Marne, the commune of the Valley-of-Meuse (with article) was created in 1972 by the fusion of the communes of Avrecourt, Épinant, Lécourt, Maulain, Montigny-the-King (chief town of the commune), Provenchères-on-Meuse, Ravennefontaines, Récourt and Saulxures. In 1974 the commune amalgamates with Lénizeul; the new commune thus created is called Valley-of-Meuse (without article).
