Administration
The university is controlled by a council ( Board off Trustees ) of approximately 50 members which can vote and several advisers with life, fees or highly skilled which do not take part in the votes. The administration consists of a President, a Provost , several Vice-presidents directing faculties, a Directeur of the information systems, a treasurer and a director of the sports activities.

The school of cinema
The USC is famous for its school of Cinéma, founded in 1929. It formed some of the great names of the American Cinéma: Robert Zemeckis, Ron Howard or George Lucas. The foundation of this last announced in September 2006 that it would make a gift of 175 million dollars in particular to build or renovate the buildings.
The presence of this school of cinema and the proximity of the USC with the movie studios of Hollywood made that the University of California of the South was used in many film productions, publicities and emissions. One often turned the judicious scenes there to be held with the Université Harvard or that of Oxford, made use possible by the aspect and the architecture of the university.
