the USSR Graf (born in 1485 with Soleure, probably dead after 1529) was a painter and a Swiss artist of the Renaissance.

His/her father, Hugo Graf, initiated it with the drawing then it went to Zurich near a Orfèvre. He earned his living by illustrating books, he also assisted a Vitrier in his achievements. In 1512, he became member of the guild of the goldsmiths and citizen of Basle. But the USSR Graf quickly had vexations with justice: its violent character against his wife, her inclinations for the prostitutes and an attempted murder obliged it to leave the city in 1518. It could return one year later and resumed its work. In 1527, it disappeared from the Rhenish city and his trace definitively was lost. It is supposed that it is deceased after 1529 as testifies some a drawing signed with its hand.

Graf was also known for its military activities, it was mercenary. Its artistic work, in the continuity of Albrecht To last and Hans Baldung, continued it in its daily life. Its drawings and its engravings, often violent, show scenes of the company, cruelty of the war with sometimes of the erotic illustrations without however disavowing a share of religiosity.
