The True Forgery Hero

the True Forgery Hero is the 15th episode of season 7 of the Simpson.

Synopsis

This episode tells the history of Jebediah Springfield and how LISA discovers its true past.

Summary

The episode starts with a video, diffused at the school of Bart and LISA, of which the topic is the history of Jebediah Springfield, the founder of the town of Springfield. Then, the teacher of LISA orders with her pupils to write a drafting on this topic, in order to celebrate the bicentenary of the city.

On this, LISA leaves to the museum the city ( Springfield historical society ) to learn some more on the subject. Over there, it meets the conservative Hollis Hurlbut, a man who dedicates his existence with the history of Jebediah Springfield. But during a short absence of the conservative, she discovers by chance the secret confessions of Jebediah Springfield . In those, he acknowledges not to be authentic a héro, and reveals also his heavy last. Indeed, until 1796, it was known under the name of Hans Sprungfeld, pirate and criminal.

During this time, Homer is made elect town crier for the parade of the bicentenary.

LISA makes known its discovery with his/her parents, but only Homer wants to believe it well. In the same way, at his school, nobody wants to believe it. Lastly, it resoud with going to see the conservative of the museum to show him the evidence of what it advances, but this one is irritated and claims that these confessions are false.

It decides then, to make a campaign against Jebediah Springfield, but nobody wants to believe it. Lastly, it will see the committee of the Jubilé in order to make carry out a survey. They thus decide to leave the body Jebediah Springfield to check if it were indeed Hans Sprungfeld. Indeed, this last carried a metal prosthesis in the place of the language. If this one were found, that would prove the veracity of the history of LISA. But when it is unearthed, no metal language is found.

Actually, it is the conservative who removed it at the time to open the coffin. This one repend the following day, and seeks with LISA to stop the parade devoted to Jebediah Springfield. But at the time of revealing with the public its discovery, seeing the beneficial effect that the myth of Jebediah Springfield exerts on the inhabitants of Springfield, LISA gives up.
