The Trent Reznor
Michael the Trent Reznor (May 17th 1965, Mercer, Pennsylvania) is musician, author, type-setter. It is in particular famous to be the creator of the group Nine Inch Nails.
Biography
The Trent Reznor passed its childhood in its birthplace (Mercer, close to Pittsburgh), raised as of the 5 years age by his/her grandparents (his/her parents, Nancy Clark and Mike Reznor, having divorced little before).
Calm and discrete, this young boy, of an attitude enough conformist, puts himself at the very young piano under the influence of his grandfather. He is quickly directed worms of the groups which will be the major influences that one will find thereafter in his work (KIS, Bowie, Queen, Einstürzende Neubauten…).
Continuing its studies all while impassioning itself for the music (with, already at that time, of the inclinations " électronico-bruitistes"), it enters in Allegheny College to study data processing there. Its insatiable artistic appetite will lead it to attend various groups influences varied during its schooling (Option 30, The Problems, The Urge, The Innocents…).
In 1986, being occupied of odd jobs in odd jobs, impassioned by an emergent style (the Electro-undue money carried by Skinny Puppy and Ministry, the Trent finally decides to write what will become later the first successes of Nine Inch Nails.
Among the few recording companies that the Trent contacted, one answers favorably project NIN, the label TVT (with which it will have some vexations of an artistic nature then legal a few years later).
The success of the first album of NIN and the noticed performance of the group to the festival Lollapalooza in 1991 will lead this last to climb the steps of success.
Today still, the Trent Reznor is characterized by its instrumental versatility (machines live, keyboards, low, live guitar… in or studio) as by the energy which it deploys on scene.
To note that it is him which produced the first three albums of Marilyn Manson; they also distributed them, as well as the following, under its label Nothing Interscope Recs.
With a firmly acquired reputation, Nine Inch Nails is from now on a group impossible to circumvent.
