The Times Higher Education Supplement
The Times Higher Education Supplement (sometimes known as The Times Higher or The TEAS ) is a monthly Journal based with London specialized in the field of the higher learning whose owner is TSL Education, a division of News International (in date of October 2005). This newspaper is known for its annual prize list of the universities, published since November 2004.
The Universités best noted are often American or British. Considering the similar results of the prize list published by the Université Jiao Tong of Shanghai, the most reasonable explanation is that the latest research in the high technologies is made in English and thus, either that this work is better known, or that these universities naturally attract the best students and enquiring; two explanations not being incompatible. One advances also the fact that because of the parcelling out of the French universities and their research teams, none of these last reaches the studied critical point and that thus, the criteria of these classifications would support the universities set up on the Anglo-Saxon model.
