This serial, imagined by the scenario writer Pierre Gauvreau, wants to be the reflection of the evolution of the French Canadian population during this period of technical, economic and social upheavals. It puts in scene the parallel destiny several characters born with the century and who return in the adult life in the context of the Great War and will know the movements of the Great Crisis of 1929. It is also an important period in terms of evolution of the political, religious and social behaviors, in particular with regard to the women.

From this point of view, the characters of Juliette and Antoinette Saint-Cyr military school, girls of farmers like that of Alexandrine Baker, girl of notable of the town of Quebec, represent the red wire of the scenario imagined by Pierre Gauvreau.
