The Thur (Swiss)

The the Thur is a Rivière Suisse length a 125 km.

The source of the Thur is in the solid mass of the Säntis on the commune of Saint-Jean-the-Old man in the Canton of Saint-Gall. It runs out then towards the Canton of Thurgovie to which it gave its name. Then, it runs out in the Canton of Zurich until Flaach where it is thrown in the the Rhine.

Its name comes from the Indo-European word Dhu which means “in a hurry”.
