The Three Musketeers (1921)
See also: the Three Musketeers
the Three Musketeers is a realization of Henri Diamond-Shepherd which, at the time, was a film with large spectacle made up of more than one hundred of observers, sumptuous natural decorations such as the castle of Chenonceau, Chartres and the borough of Pérouges, and a large budget of approximately 3 franc million of the time.
This chief of work of the silent film, turned in 1921, was composed of 12 one one hour duration episodes, and after having been a considerable success at the time of its exit, this one falls into the lapse of memory until 1995. The grandson and the great-grandson of the scenario writer, Jerome and Guillaume Diamond-Shepherd restore work by digitizing the images, while replacing under titles and by adding comments in voice-over. This intervention which makes howl the purists, is concretized by a rate impassioning of fourteen one 26 minutes duration episodes. The original music of film, made up the image, carried out by an orchestra of 80 musicians, interpreted by Gréco Casadesus, joins closely the sound effects of the soundtrack, which makes the episodes more alive, and more expressive.
