Synopsis

In this beginning of the 19th century, the tavern of Jamaica has a very bad reputation. Its customers have the annoying practice to hide the light of the headlight per time of storm and, thus, to ruin the ships on the reefs, particularly many at this place of the coast of Cornouailles. Sir Humphrey, the local Justice of the Peace, directs the group and informs it of the passage of the ships.

Not having more family in Ireland, Mary Yellard joined his/her aunt Patience, married in Joss, the landlord of the tavern of Jamaica. She discovers the band of naufrageurs which occupies the places. Jem Trehearne, a novel member, is hung after a short argument. Mary manages to deliver it and both escape from this sinister place. Where will they take refuge?
