The Swiss Council of the Activities of Youth

The Swiss Council of the activities of youth (CSAJ, in German: Schweizerische Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Jugendverbände) is the ridge organization of approximately 80 youth organizations of Switzerland and represents their interests near the administrations, within political grémiums and near the population. The CSAJ was created in 1933.

The center of competences for the policy of childhood and youth

The policy of childhood and youth is the principal activity of the CSAJ. The CSAJ also engages for the equal opportunity and supports in a general way promotion of health. The CSAJ is composed of approximately 120 voluntary and of 16 paid collaborators and collaborators, is independent at the denominational level and of the parties and is not directed towards the profit.

The participation: the young people are entitled to the word and endorse responsibilities

The CSAJ is active within the most important grémiums as an expert and engages at the cantonal, national and international level so that the young people can take part in the life and the political decisions. The CSAJ currently works with an outline law for the coordination of the policy of youth at the federal level.

Voluntary work becomes increasingly more important

The CSAJ engages so that voluntary work obtains a better place in policy and on the level of the company. In 1991, the one week introduction of leave-youth could take place and then, the file voluntary help and the booklet of formation became standards for the voluntary attestations of employment.
