This work headlight of the literature of terror treats Split personality and expensive subconscious with the Psychanalyse, while being based on a remarkable writing and a very rich intrigue.
History
The news starts with beautiful an afternoon, in front of a door, in London. Between a notary Mr. Utterson and Mr. Richard Enfield. Mr. Enfield explained to his cousin moved away, Mr. Utterson, a history which he had lived during one night London where a man and a young girl had struck themselves. The man had carried on his way, leaving the little girl howling on the pavement, as if it had occurred anything. But the man was intercepted by the police chief and Mr. Enfield to return damage, of hundreds of books (English Currency) to the parents of the child. The man only by seeing it gave cold in the back. The man entered by a door and arose with some gold coins and a signed check of certain Mr. Hyde.
The investigation starts like a kind of curiosity and concern, in spite of the assertions of Jekyll that Hyde does not present any danger. Its point of view changes when Hyde is seen making a wild murder on a respected member of the British Parliament. As Utterson attends the investigation into the crime, Jekyll becomes more and more recluse and dark, while Utterson comes from there to think that the doctor helps Hyde.
Finally, Jekyll is insulated in its laboratory in prey with a disorder that nobody can include/understand. Another friend of Utterson, Lanyon, is brutally dying of a psychic shock on which Jekyll seems dependant. This last leaves a letter has Mr. Utterson where it registered there on the envelope: " to give only to Mr. Utterson but, if this last died, that this letter is burned without being lue." By opening the letter Mr. Utterson discovers another letter where it marked there: " Open only when Doctor Jekyll dies or disparu."
During long weeks the doctor did not accept any more any visitor in his residence and with each test of the notary to see it found closed door. Lastly, the majordomo of Jekyll comes to Utterson to ask of the assistance in order to undertake from abroad who had succeeded in penetrating in the locked laboratory and which would have killed Jekyll. Together, they discover that it is Hyde which is in the part, death, and which Jekyll cannot be found.
To finish, Utterson reads the letters of each one of his/her friends from now on deceased. The first, of Lanyon, reveals that it was the direct witness that Mr. Hyde is not null other than Dr. Jekyll who transformed himself into Hyde by a Potion of his invention.
The other letter is a confession where Jekyll tells its history: how he arrived to a theory which each man has two aspects, good and bad, in him. On this basis, it created a potion which could transform the human one in its dark side, that it named Edward Hyde (pun with the English word hide , which means “hidden”). Soon, it made its change regularly and was devoted to all prohibited antisocial satisfactions with Jekyll. However, the Hyde aspect started to be reinforced and escaped control from Jekyll. After Hyde had become a murderer, Jekyll decided to stop taking drug enabling him to metamorphose itself, but it started again. It ends up committing suicide one evening in the form of Hyde.
