The Strand
The Strand (in French the bank ) is a street of London (England). It was the original road between the town of London and the royal center of Westminster, which was villages separated with the Moyen-âge - although until the 17th century, the the Thames competed with this street like principal route between the two. Nowadays, it starts with Trafalgar Square and moves towards the east at the border of the town of London, where it crosses Fleet Street. Temple Bar mark limit of the city.
The street indicated popularly under the name of The Strand although the street name is right Strand . On the London Monopoly, the street is written as a " Strand" , whereas on the chart of property, it is " The Strand".
The name Strand comes from the old English word for shore and is the German and Dutch word for beach . Before the construction of Embankment, The Strand was along the Thames. The Strand and Aldwych were inhabited since the Saxons, when the sector was an important village, just outside the old Roman walls of the city. Throughout the the Middle Ages, this sector remained a bond of development and activity in London, establishing the link between the economic center in the east and policy in the west.
St Clement Danes was undoubtedly built at the 19th century, but the current building is mainly a work of the 17th century of Sir Christopher Wren. St Mary-le-Strand was conceived by James Gibbs and was finished in 1717.
There are two subway stations: Charing Cross-country race and Aldwych which is out of use. The subway station of Strand was amalgamated in the new subway station of Charing Cross when the Jubilee Line was built.

Bush House is occupied by BBC, mainly by the service world of the BBC, but its personnel will move soon towards another building.
