The Spine of the Devil
the Spine of the Devil ( El espinazo LED diablo ) is a Spanish film carried out by Guillermo del Toro, left in 2001.
Synopsis
In Spain, during the civil war, Carlos, a twelve year old boy whose father is deceased, unloads in Santa Lucia, a catholic establishment for orphans. He is given to the good care of Carmen, the director, and of professor Casares. But it must face the hostility of his comrades and Jacinto, the odd-job man. In addition, this hostile place dissimulates behind its walls two secrecies: the gold of the republican cause, and the phantom of a child who haunts the basement.
