the Sphinx of the ices is a novel of Jules Verne published in 1897. It makes following the novel of another author, Edgar Poe: Adventures of Arthur Gordon Pym , published in 1838.
L' action begins in the islands Kerguelen, the voyage continues towards the continent the Antarctic.
The novel of Jules Verne gives an explanation of a rational nature at the end of the account of Poe, end which was fantastic, even mystical.
