Leading life
Volume 1
The series was launched in December 1976 by archie Goodwin and Sal Buscema. Spidey faced unpleasant kind the Shooter, Tarantula, or Morbius. Bill Mantlo takes the reins enough vites for stories " kind; end of Champions" … When the draftsman Jim Mooney arrives, it launches more important stories, in particular " Spidey aveugle" (with two episodes by Frank Miller, moreover). Somebody knows the identity of Parker: in fact, it is Carrion, a decrepit clone of Jackal: Bill Mantlo manages to do one following the first " saga of the clone" without anything to destroy… Then, a saga with Lizard will give a great end to its service.Jim Mooney becomes rarer, Marie Severin makes some episodes, and Roger Stern settles to make stories investigations kind in the mediums of the mode, with the twins Kingsley, in particular, and the Keating inspector. Its large saga, it is the trilogy of Beetle, where the unpleasant one takes a really worrying dimension.
Bill Mantlo reconsiders the series, in particular with ED Hannigan with the drawings, which injects a little style of Will Eisner (titles mixed with the elements with the decoration, composition, lightings light-obscure…) in the universe of Spider-Man. After Hannigan, it is Al Milgrom which draws, with a saga devoted to the Punisher, with Cloak & Dagger and Kingpin, then a saga haletante with the Doctor Octopus and Black Cat (it is roughly the period of the " costume noir").
Arrive then Peter David with in particular the " died of Jean Dewolff" , drawn by Rich Buckler, and the trilogy of the Redeemer, drawn by Sal Buscema.
Gerry Conway returns on the character whom it had animated of the years before in Amazing Spider-Man, with Sal Buscema: an environment whodunnit, Hermanos Lobos, Tombstone,…
Conway from goes away, Jean-Marc DeMatteis arrives, and writes its stories intimists of which it has the secrecy. The return of Vermin, the return of Goblin, all that is very good. One arrives at the " saga of the clone" , Jean-Marc DeMatteis passes on Amazing Spider-Man, and signs some very good episodes (Peter in its chrysalis of fabric, the famous #400…). But Peter Parker stops soon
