The Spacecraft

the Spacecraft is a Planétarium located at Saint-Etienne in the old site of Manufrance in the city of the Fauriel Course.

Presentation

Opened since 1993, the Planétarium of Saint-Etienne has the role to present spectacles relating to the Astronomie in a scientific and ludic way.

It is composed of a dome of 12m, being able to receive more than 80 people and is equipped with the projector 5+1 vp tritubes (Barco 909) 1600×1200. The 6 Vidéoprojecteur S distributed all around the room project a mosaic of 6 images being assembled in an enormous single image covering all the vault. The system has an astronomical database, including/understanding the whole of the Planet S, satellite S and small bodies of the Solar system like more: 100000 star S.

Organized demonstrations

Of meetings the one hour which take along in a spectacular way the public to discovered space, thanks to various mediae: virtual sequences animated in 3D, film and interventions of a scientific organizer.

Mission Mars tells the history of both Rovers of the mission Mars of exploring.
the race with the Earth, which tells the perilous adventures of selenites launched to the conquest of the planet Ground. This fiction allows inter alia including/understanding the laws of the Pesanteur and doing it parallel with the various missions Apollo,
