The Source

the Source ( Jungfrukällan ) is a Swedish film carried out by Ingmar Bergman, left in 1960, as well as the title of a song taking again the same history.

Synopsis

Karin, girl of easy peasants leaves to the church, accompanied by a maidservant. While crossing the forest, the maidservant takes fear and Karin carries on only its way. She crosses three shepherds, whose child, and divides with them his lunch. At the time to set out again, they are jetent on it, violate it and kill it, under the glance of young person.

They find then hospitality in the parents of Karin. The mother discovers their crime. The father, Töre, kill them in his turn. Going in the forest, he questions God on the reasons which push It to let achieve such horrors. At the time when they raise the body of Karin, a source emerges.

A song of Isabelle Aubret

the Source is also the title of a song of Isabelle Aubret, whose text takes again the history of this young girl killed by " Three men-loups". Very famous at its time, this song represented France with the contest of the Eurovision, and was classified 3rd.
