The Smiths is dead is an album homage to the album The Queen Is Dead (initially appeared in 1986) of the Smiths.

In 1996, the magazine Inrockuptibles commemorates the tenth birthday of the exit of what he considers being the “best album of the years 1980”. It gathers, in the order of the original album, the Reprise again S of each title interpreted by the British groups of the moment.
