The Slope of the sun

the Slope of the Sun is an autobiographical work of Roger Clipping-Rock published into 1981 with the editions Flammarion.

Summary of work

The account starts in 1910 in a bar Paris IEN with the childhood of Roger, continues with Chamonix where he works for the 1 {{er}} Winter Olympics into 1924 before becoming guide. Comes then the period from the Second world war where Roger will go in North Africa as war correspondent, returns in the the Alps where it enters FFI. He will discover the Lapland in 1956 then the North America between 1966 and 1969.

During all these periods, he will have lived with his family with Algiers, Nice for finally returning to Chamonix.
