The Sky At Night
The Sky At Night is a British television program on the Astronomie produced by BBC, and diffused on BBC One. It is the oldest emission with the same presenter: since its first diffusion the April 24th 1957, the emission had one and single presenter, Patrick Moore. The music of beginning and end of emission is At the Castle Gate drawn from Pelleas and Melisande of Jean Sibelius.
The emission in general covers a range of various subjects on astronomy and space. In the past, the subjects could relate to the evolution of stars, the Radioastronomie, the satellite S, the black holes, the neutron stars, and many other topics. The emission covers also the topicality from what occurs in the sky; that is in particular interesting when something of exceptional takes place, like the passage of a Comet or of shooting stars.
In July 2004, Patrick Moore was in impossibility of presenting the emission, because of a severe infection of Salmonellose. It was replaced temporarily by the astronomer Chris Lintott of the University College London , and was of return in August for pousuivre the program.
